Forecast reasoning
Manchester City was found guilty of nearly all 115 financial charges on September 29, 2026, with experts speculating penalties could reach 60-100 points, but no sanctions have been announced as of mid-October and an appeal is underway with a decision expected by January 2027.
Settlement
Resolution criteria: - "Yes": Wins if a final, official points deduction of more than 12 points is formally imposed on Manchester City by the Premier League or its independent disciplinary/appeal body, with that deduction taking effect strictly after 2026-10-08T09:45:03.484Z and at or before 2027-05-23T23:00:00.000Z. - "No": Wins if, as of 2027-05-23T23:00:00.000Z, no final, official points deduction of more than 12 points has been formally imposed on Manchester City within the above window — including if no points deduction has been issued at all, if the appeal process is still ongoing, or if any imposed deduction is 12 points or fewer. Clarifications: - "Final, official points deduction" means a sanction that has been formally announced by the Premier League as enforceable — either because no appeal has been lodged, the appeal process has been concluded, or the sanctioning body has confirmed the deduction is in immediate effect pending appeal. A verdict on guilt alone, without an accompanying confirmed points penalty, does not satisfy either criterion. - If a points deduction is announced but subsequently reduced on appeal to 12 points or fewer before 2027-05-23T23:00:00.000Z, "No" wins. If the appeal outcome is not yet published by the settlement time, the most recently confirmed enforceable deduction figure is used.
